10. Wine - I put this in the place of lowest priority so that it appears to be
of normal importance as a sane, mentally stable individual...not from a girl
with proven alcoholic genetics. (Reference to my dad...just shy of 20 years
sober) If one glass a day keeps your heart healthy I've developed myself one
heck of a pumper! I really appreciate a nice glass of grape mush.
9. Washer & dryer - Ole Jus always says he was born 100 years too late. He's
such a pioneer. Me, on the other hand, not so much. I am certain I wouldn't be a
top pick for a housewife in any century before agitators and spin cycles.
8. Conditioner - bless it. It took me 2 decades to really get to know my hair.
Turns out, we get along much better when conditioner is applied liberally after
each wash. Without it, I'd have a head of nappy horse hair...on a good day.
7. Texting - I'm all for development of telephone etiquette and social skills by way of ringing someone up on the line, but it gives me much joy to be able to send my words without actually having to say them. You know its bad when you call your BFF in a moment of intense emotion knowing you can't type as fast as your brain is thinking and she answers, "What's wrong? Why are you calling me?!?!"
6. Microwaves - Its not that I use it often, but ours is currently broken and there is a certain little girl in our home who is a temperature diva.
5. Books - I love them! Big ones, little ones, funny ones, serious ones, spiritual ones, and ones that will make you stupider for reading them. I hated reading in school and I never read a textbook in my life. I guess a hiatus from printed text starting with the end of my school career was just what I needed to get my love of books going. Quit making me read and I'll read on my own.
4. Floss Picks - Turns out my dentist doesn't floss everyday, I asked. Not that I do either, but the invention of putting floss on a stick must be the best one since the wheel and makes flossing much more convenient.
3. Blogs - Like my dad says when he shares a link to my blog, "This is my daughter's blog. Whatever that means." Mine is important to me of course, but I find constant encouragement, incitement and reassurance from so many other blogs...Top ten list to come.
2. Crossfit - I never wake up, pop out of bed, and squeeze "the girls" into my "jumping bra" because I like it. In fact, I'm usually dreading it. I've never been a part of something where you go in apprehensive, leave with jello-legs wanting to vomit, end up feeling better and go back the next day and do it all over again. There is no other way I will push myself to burn that many calories in one hour, so... Crossfit it is.
1. God & Family - God first, family second, but so closely related. Family is there to give you glimpses of His never-ending, unfailing love and for support and reassurance when evil breaks through. Let's shoot for more good and less evil...FROM THIS SIDE OF THIRTY.
